Ecosystem worksheet

This page contains an ecosystem worksheet in which children will learn to establish the feeding relationships between organisms. All living organisms play a role in transforming their habitats. This transforming role impacts other living and nonliving members of that population. Humans have played a big role (often negative) in transforming the environment in which they live, hence affecting ecosystems and the balance nature played in our lives. With this ecosystem worksheet, children will be required to draw lines that show the feeding relationships between animals in a food chain. Think about it this way, herbivores feed on grass for their subsistence, carnivores feed on herbivores while omnivores feed on everything. At the end of life, these all die and are consumed by decomposers like fungi and bacteria which go to fertilise the soil. Nature is an amazing place when we think about ecosystems.
